Acupuncture
Acupuncture is the insertion of fine, filiform needles into the body at various mapped out locations. Acupuncture can be explained from a western medical standpoint as having influence on circulatory function modulating pain and inflammation, communicating with the central nervous system via the periphery of the body and so on, or through the paradigm of Chinese medicine as having a regulatory effect on the flow of (function or energy) and blood flow in the body and removing obstructions in the meridians or functional pathways.
Regardless of the lens we use to explain or understand the effects of acupuncture, it has shown through thousands of years of practical application and experience and half a century or so of scientific research to have a definite therapeutic effect on the body… and surprisingly, more often than not, feels SO good!!!
Chinese Herbal Medicine
Chinese herbal medicine is the precise and complex system of combining specific items from the Chinese herbal materia medica (roots, barks, berries, fruits, shells, minerals, leaves, and grasses) to create recipes and formulas focused on restoring physiology and synchronizing interconnected systems in the body. Classical herbal medicine provides the body with what is needed to boost function in targeted areas.
Formulas are designed influence the body and provide what is needed for shifts and healing to occur.
Chinese medicine can be used to treat a full range of acute and chronic conditions and is safe and effective and for many conditions. It can be used for anyone and everyone including babies, children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, and seniors.
